Cuba Study Travel for US Sports Schools

Cuba Study Travel exposes US Students to Sports Training in Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Boxing and Volleyball in Cuba

Sports Training in Cuba | Spring Break 2014 Spanish Immersion in Cuba Reviews Cuba Educational Tours Free Cuba Travel for Educators Old Havana Cuba Study Trips Cuba Beach for Spring Break 2014 USA Cuba Travel for US Schools USA Cuba Travel for US Organizations
CUBA STUDY TRAVEL works in tandem with INDER for the organization of Cuba sports tours for North American Schools. INDER is the body responsible for the organization of Cuba sports tours. Its headquarters at Sports City is situated on Havana's outskirts.

It is a large complex, not unlike a national sports center in England or a sports facility on a US university campus. It is dominated by a 12,000-seat indoor stadium; murals featuring Ché Guevara are everywhere around the building and on the walls of apartment blocks nearby. At Sports City Cuba’s best athletes are given advanced sports coaching and all attention necessary for them to represent Cuba at international competitions.

Cuba Study Travel and INDER determine the best Cuban sports school to place the students traveling to Cuba. Placement depends on students’ age and level. US sports schools traveling to Cuba should provide Cuba Study Travel with their sports Cuba travel goals.

Whether you are taking your students to Cuba for training, friendly competition or just a cultural exchange sports program it helps Cuba Study Travel and INDER know in advance what you expect from Cuba sports trips. Currently we offer such programs for Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Field Hockey, Boxing and Volleyball.

Currently there are about 30 Schools for Sports Initiation (EIDES), admission to an EIDE usually comes at age 12. After several years at an EIDE, very promising athletes graduate to the Escuelas Superior de Perfeccionamiento Atlético (ESPA), or High Schools of Athletic Perfection- there are 13 of these schools.

Typically, a student-athlete remains at school until age 19, when top athletes transfer to the national training center in Havana known as Sports City (Ciudad Deportiva). Athletes attending the national training center have a nominal occupation but are essentially full-time athletes. Other athletes follow up EIDE and ESPA with study at the University of Havana, where athletic training is accommodated by an extension of the number of years allowed for degree completion.

Cuba Study Travel exposes students from USA Sports Schools to Sports Training in Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Field Hockey, Boxing and Volleyball in Cuba.

Do not wait any longer. Now is the time to start planning the next Cuba sports travel for your students. Your students will consider traveling to Cuba an experience of a lifetime. They will come home optimistic and inspired by fresh perspectives on what is possible not only personally but also socially. Request a custom-made no-obligation Cuba Study Travel itinerary for your students, and check some of the resources we put at your service.

Now travel to the Caribbean island is allowed under a general license (this is, self-completed paperwork with no application to OFAC needed).

After President Trump’s policy change on USA Cuba travel on November 9, 2017, the General License for Educational Activities remains in place.
